Nearby Aircraft Privacy Policy

Overview
Nearby Aircraft is an aircraft-observation app. It does not require an account and does not include advertising, analytics SDKs, fingerprinting, or tracking.
Data We Do Not Collect
The developer does not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, contacts, photos, payment information, advertising identifiers, tracking identifiers, or analytics events through Nearby Aircraft.
Optional Location
Nearby Aircraft works without location permission. If you tap Locate, read the explanation, and grant permission, the app uses the device location to center the map. Before an aircraft request, the map center is rounded to roughly 5 km and paired with a bounded search radius. Nearby Aircraft does not retain or sell device location.
Local App Data
Settings, recent searches, followed flight numbers, departure and landing alert state, request-budget counters, and a last-good aircraft cache are stored locally on the device. A small aircraft-count summary may be shared locally with the Nearby Aircraft widget through an Apple App Group. This data is not sent to the developer.
Notifications
Notification permission is requested only after you choose Notify me for a flight. Nearby Aircraft uses Apple's native local-notification system after it observes a departure or landing. Background refresh is opportunistic and controlled by iOS, so alerts can be delayed. Followed flights and alert state remain on the device and are not sent to the developer.
External Services
Nearby Aircraft loads community aircraft observations from ADSB.lol and may use Airplanes.live as a serial fallback. Flight search and alert checks send a public flight number or callsign to ADSBDB and ADSB.lol to retrieve a published route and live status. Airport autocomplete uses a Public Domain OurAirports directory bundled in the app. Apple MapKit provides map data. Network services receive normal request information such as IP address and user agent.
Tracking
Nearby Aircraft does not track you across apps or websites.
